Owl Playground Renovations

Starting next week, and over the course of the next few weeks, the Owl Playground at the front of the school will be going through a greening, rejuvenation project. As a result, there may be some restrictions and limitations to accessing the space in front of the school on Hammet Street as well as possibly some surrounding streets. We ask for your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time as we help support our Owl neighbours during these renovations.

Thank you in advance.

Picture Day and Orange Shirts Day Reminders

Monday, September 30th is Picture Day. That day is also this year’s Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt Day is held each year to  commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation.  The organizers of Orange Shirt Day welcome participation and encourage participants to do so on a day that works for them.  Because of the conflict with Picture Day, we will hold our Orange Shirt event on Tuesday, October 1st.  Students are welcome to wear their orange shirts on that day in recognition of this event.

Toonies for Terry – Friday, September 27, 2019

We are thrilled to participate in the Terry Fox Run again this September. Last year we raised $688.00 to help support cancer research. So many people are directly and indirectly affected by this devastating disease. We have established our annual “Toonies for Terry” campaign where we ask each student and staff member to donate a toonie for Terry. Please make all donations through Cash Online. All monies collected will go to the Terry Fox Foundation where it will be used to help fund cancer research so that one day, this disease will be a thing of the past. Can you imagine a world without people dying of cancer? We can help make that dream come true.

Thank you so much for your continued support!
